Chief John Kelley
Chief John Kelley
1944-1944
Chief John Kelley and his wife ran John L. Kelley & Sons, a gravel and excavating business north of Roscoe. They also donated property for the Kelley-Meyers Park in Roscoe.
Chief Kelley’s son, Mike Kelly, also served on the department in the mid-1960s into the early 1980s. Mike said, “I remember as a kid going with my mom to take coffee to my dad and the firefighters working a fire on the corner of Main Street and Harrison Street.”
