Glenn Trommels has served on the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District Board of Trustees since May 2025.

Glenn retired from the City of Rockford as Information Technology Director, where he oversaw critical technology initiatives that enhanced municipal operations, improved public services, and strengthened regional collaboration. An accomplished information technology executive, he has extensive experience in technology strategy, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and public-sector innovation.

During his tenure with the City of Rockford, Glenn led numerous major initiatives, including the modernization of citywide communications systems, implementation of advanced cybersecurity programs, and deployment of shared public safety technology platforms that support fire departments and law enforcement agencies throughout Winnebago County.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, Glenn has championed innovative technology solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase transparency in local government. He also served as Chairman of the iFiber Board, helping expand high-speed broadband infrastructure and connectivity across northwest Illinois. In addition, he served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman of the WinGIS Board, where he helped local municipalities leverage geographic information systems (GIS) technology to improve operational efficiency and regional collaboration.

Throughout his career, Glenn has been dedicated to using technology to strengthen public service and improve government operations. His commitment to innovation and regional partnerships has helped deliver lasting value to public agencies and the communities they serve. He brings that same commitment to the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District Board of Trustees, where he continues to support the District's mission of providing exceptional service to the community.
