Patrick Trollop

Patrick Trollop joined the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District in 2012. He was promoted to Lieutenant on February 13, 2015, Captain on September 23, 2019, and was sworn in as a full-time Battalion Chief on July 27, 2020. On December 30, 2022, he was sworn in as the department's ninth Fire Chief.

Patrick entered the department as an EMT-Basic and earned his Paramedic license in 2013. Prior to becoming Fire Chief, he oversaw the District's Special Operations Division and served as the department's Disaster Preparedness Coordinator, helping strengthen emergency preparedness and specialized response capabilities.

Before beginning his fire service career, Patrick proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1998 to 2002. During his military service, he attained the rank of Corporal and served as an Infantry Squad Leader. His assignments included deployments throughout the Far East and the Middle East, where he developed the leadership, discipline, and commitment to service that continue to guide him today.

Patrick holds numerous certifications through the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal, reflecting his commitment to professional development and excellence in the fire service. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Management from Southern Illinois University and holds the Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM) certification through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Managing Officer Program in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Throughout his career, Patrick has been recognized for his dedication to the department and the community. He was honored as the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department Firefighter of the Year in both 2017 and 2019.

As Fire Chief, Patrick built upon the strong foundation established by the leaders before him while guiding the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District into the future through professional development, emergency preparedness, and a continued commitment to providing exceptional fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the community.
