Lieutenant
Lt. Ryan Donner joined the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department in September 2021. He was
promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in January 2023, but stepped down in October 2023
to focus on being a new paramedic, he was re-promoted to Lieutenant in December
2024
Ryan grew up in Dixon, Illinois graduating from Dixon High School. While in high school
Ryan was on the cadet program at Dixon-Rural Fire Department and he became a paid-
on-call Firefighter in 2009. Ryan became an EMT in July of 2012 and a paramedic in
October of 2023. Prior to coming to the HRFD, he was a full-time Emergency Dispatcher
and a part-time Firefighter at the South Beloit Fire Department. While on SBFD Ryan was
awarded the Excellence in Leadership Award in 2019.
Ryan currently serves as the Quartermaster at HRFD overseeing all turnout gear/PPE
and uniforms. While at HRFD, Ryan started the Awards and Decorations program in the
fall of 2024 to recognize firefighters for outstanding service.
Some of Ryan’s OSFM certifications include: Advanced Technician Firefighter, HAZ-MAT
Operations, Rope Operations, Vehicle Machinery Operations, Fire Apparatus Engineer,
Fire Officer I, and Instructor II. His EMS certifications are CPR, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and
National Registered Paramedic.
Ryan currently is assigned at Station #2 as the officer on gold shift. During the summer
time he also works part-time at Blackhawk Farms Raceway as a Paramedic.
